Apparently, I'm awesome.

I think I'm a pretty decent cook. I try hard to serve my family tasty, nutritious meals. Heck, I grind my own wheat for bread. Well, apparently, last night I outdid myself. As we were eating, my eight year old proclaims, "Mommy! You are the most amazingest, most beautifulest, most wonderful woman in the whole world. All the daddies in the world should WISH they'd married you."

What, you ask, inspired this praise?

That's right. Jiffy freaking Corn Muffins. Sigh...

(Pics of the Fire shirts are coming. Just can't find the camera. Again.)

Okay, remind me not to read your blog when I have a daycare kid sleeping in the living room and my own two asleep upstairs. It is a wonder they didn't wake up from the laughter! :)

Don't you just love it when you go the extra mile to make something so nutritious and good for your family and then find out after the fact that the $0.50 box of Jiffy Mix is all that it took?

But hey... revel in the compliment! :)

LOL!! Maybe you can sell the story to Jiffy and star in a commercial where your children sing your praises and you declare, "I used to bake my own bread, but why bother when my family loves Jiffy?!"

Tamara, that was awesome and triggered some memories of similar comments. :)

Tamara,

I'm at my wits end w/ these kids and chores. When I tried to think of a Mom I respected and could trust, I thought of you.

Do you use chore charts? Do you use allowance tied in w/ the chore chart...ie: no chores done=no allowance that week.

Help, I think I'm loosing my mind!!

That is fantastic!

I got huge praise tonight for some Zatarans from a box. I've been sick and wanted something super quick, so it was just heat up this stovetop box dinner stuff. Stephen, my oldest at 4, says, "Mommy this is some really good dinner, you are great at being our mommy" Which warmed my heart right up! :)

I've told you this before but I'll tell you again, I'm a huge fan of yours. You are an inspiration.

That's hilarious. Wow! Can you teach me how to bake those!? Might want to broaden your horizons to corn pudding/corn casserole too. Faith

Hey Squirelly - I will be posting all about our chores system later this summer. We're still working out the kinks.
